- Two 91Թ history professors received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, with projects in Elizabethan politics and the emancipation of Africans taken during the outlawed slave trade in the 1800s.
- Maiji Castro, who graduates summa cum laude with a degree in art history and a minor in Italian, has been named the fall 2016 outstanding graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences at the 91Թ.
