Katherine is passionate about working with students interested in clean technologies and sustainability. Katherine helped create Energy Smart Colorado, a residential energy efficiency program initially funded by the US Department of Energy. Katherine and a small team built the program from the ground up, securing a $1 million loan fund, implementing a workforce training program, and engaging residential customers to complete efficiency work. Since its inception, Energy Smart has invested more than $80 million in energy efficiency projects and exists in 18 counties around Colorado. Katherine's other life long passion is history and she spent nearly a decade as a history teacher.Ìý

Katherine has a master's degree in Sustainable Development and Latin American studies from NYU and Columbia University. She lives in Boulder with her husband and three children.Ìý
