    91³Ô¹ÏÍøÂ Chancellor Phil DiStefano addressed a full house this morning in the Glenn Miller Ballroom for his annual "State of the Campus" address. Members of the CU community, along with those watching the Livestream broadcast, heard an update on the campus' progress on his three strategic priority areas, and how these priorities are connected to the Flagship 2030 goals.

    The University of Colorado has been undergoing a system-wide effort to streamline and improve the its Finance (FIN), Human Capital Management (HCM) and other systems, which had not been updated in roughly a decade.

    On Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 8 a.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom, Chancellor DiStefano will offer his eighth State of the Campus address to faculty, staff, students and the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø community. The Chancellor will address the evolution of the campus’ Flagship 2030 vision and strategy and how that relates to his top three priorities. He will also discuss key successes and challenges the campus faces.

    Today we experienced a threatening situation in the Folsom Field Champions Center. Later in the day, a number of calls were made to police dispatch regarding unconfirmed reports of an active threat at three separate locations. I thank everyone who responded quickly and calmly to the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Alert regarding today’s incident.
  • CU South, January 2010 - shows looking west towards the foothills
    The city of Boulder and the county are working on an update of the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan, which guides development in the valley. Part of that may include a proposal to annex a 308-acre parcel of land south of the city that could support the university’s long-term growth needs. On Monday, city and county officials will host an open house to give the community a chance to learn more about the plan update and to provide input.

    At the conclusion of a successful internal search, Senior Vice Chancellor Kelly Fox has today named Katherine Erwin Chief Human Resources Officer for the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø.
  • The CU Board of Regents
    The CU Board of Regents Thursday received an update on projected enrollment growth on all four campuses from Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Todd Saliman. Among other items, the board also approved a name change for the BA degree in the Department of Women and Gender Studies and the splitting of the MS in Applied Mathematics into a professional and traditional degree.

    The city manager and staff will ask the Boulder City Council next week to consider a collaborative plan with the university to develop a new hotel and conference center in the heart of the city. The center will have the potential to help revitalize The Hill commercial district and create a modern gathering place for academics, researchers and the community.
