- After an internal search, Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation Terri Fiez appointed Alan Townsend director of INSTAAR. After 17 years at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø and a stretch at Duke University, Townsend returned as associate vice chancellor for research earlier this year.
